Gulf Coast

We are in the midst of our first visit to the coast of Texas, and we are loving it! This is the winter we have been hoping for. We started out in Rockport, which was absolutely demolished by Hurricane Harvey last year. Their recovery is amazing, but many people lost everything. Recovery is hampered by insurance problems, lack of resources and a need for more skilled workers (builders, roofers, etc.). This little town has been a joy, because most folks we have met here are extremely open, kind, and joyful. We’re staying at Copano Bay RV resort, which is on the Salt Lake.

Port Aransas impressed us the most, so we moved the Airstream to a resort here, near the beach. Port A RV Resort has two heated pools and a hot tub. With my arthritis, I am super excited to be able to walk and bike on the beach, then end the day with a soak in the hot tub! We got a site close to the pool area. Cooper loves walking on the beach, but he gets a little freaked out when the water moves toward him. He never experienced that in New Mexico.
